September 24th, 2011 - Timothy Culp made the second trip of his young career to "The Baddest Bullring in the South" Columbus Speedway over the weekend as he entered the $20,011-to-win, Magnolia State 100. Fifty-three cars entered the event, and in time trials Culp qualified fifth fastest to earn the fifth starting spot for his heat race. In the heat he would advance to a fourth place finish, which left him one spot short of a transfer to the feature event. As a result, he started second in a b-main on Saturday night.

In the b-main he would pursue Rick Rickman for much of the event, while also battling with Morgan Bagley to hold the final transfer spot. Culp and Bagley would battle for the lead for the duration of the event before Culp claimed the second and final transfer at the checkered flag to earn the 22nd starting spot for the 100 lap finale.

In the finale, Culp would narrowly avoid some melees early in the feature as he battled mechanical issues of his own. He would go on to complete the entire race on his way to a very respectable tenth place finish at the checkered flag. Full results are available at
